This is Rick Genest or as he is better known as Zombie Boy. He puts what we know/think of beautiful to the test.

You have probably seen or even heard about Zombie Boy. And what’s not to love about this undead boy? Between the pout and tattoos, he is 100% amazing and unique.

Rick, aka Zombie Boy, aka Rico The Zombie, was born in Montreal, Canada on 7 August 1985. This puts him at being only 27 years of age. He received his first tattoo of a skull and crossbones when he was 16 and instantly fell in love with the art form of tattoos. After he graduated high school when he was 17, he left home and immersed himself in the underground punk scene. That’s were he learned all about DIY fashion, music, tattoos, and piercings. He lived around in abandoned apartments and the streets, and that’s were he first got called “Zombie Boy”, and remember this was still before all of the tattoos. By the time he was 19, however, he made the decision to commit to tattooing his whole body. What is most impressive is that a Montreal tattoo artist, Frank Lewis, did the majority of the work that covers his body over a span of 6 years. He still isn’t done even after the close to $20,000 he has spent and the 80% of his body that is covered.

If any of you have seen 47 Ronin then you have surely seen Zombie Boy and know about him. And if you thought all those tattoos were achieved only by hours upon mind numbing hours of sitting in a makeup chair, you were very wrong. All of his tattoos are as real as they come, with over 80% of his body covered in scenes depicting zombie apocalypses and bones exposed from rotting flesh, along with flesh eating insects.

You must be wonder how the hell does he even make any real money with all those tattoos, wouldn’t that make people not want to hire him? To put it simply, no. If anything he makes money from those tattoos. He started out his performing career in Canada, joining sideshows and carnivals, learning how to lay on beds of nails, flesh pulling, and fire play. He became so successful in the carnival world that he was able to create his own freak show. He still travels around the world performing.
And just to address the picture above, that is Zombie Boy on the left and that is Evan Peters from American Horror Story on the right (and they both look really hot…) There was a big huge deal over the fact that AHS used Zombie Boys image without permission, but Fox and Genest’s lawyers didn’t want to make a big deal about it so they never pressed charges.

You may have also seen Zombie Boy in Lady Gaga’s music video for ‘Born This Way’. This all happened when Rick was found by Gaga’s personal stylist who also happens to have his own extremely successful fashion line. Nicola Formichetti, instantly fell in love with Zombie Boy’s image had he just had to have him model his clothing. And long story short Rick agreed to model for Formuchetti, the rest is history as they say. Ever since then he has gotten sponsors and careers opportunities like you would not believe.

This is one of my all time favorite videos of all time. First of all, it’s insane to see Zombie Boy and plain old Rick Genest before all the tattoos. It seriously is one of the strangest things to me. But what is also amazing is the makeup itself, which is exactly why Dermablend wanted to use Zombie Boy to show off their product.
It’s funny how hard people try to be different from other people around them, but they are too afraid to be truly different. Then there are the people who don’t give a s*** about what others think and they do whatever makes them happiest. I think that is something that is exceptionally beautiful. I love how we can live in a world where people can actually get paid to be uniquely themselves.
Although, it’s truly inspiring to be your own person like this, I’m not sure I would go to this extent. Would you?
